It is impossible to wish away the outrage and boldness of Thursday night, when Mr. Ajibola Famurewa, the APC senatorial candidate for Osun East, tried to “exploit” the fate of the whole Iperindo Ogere-Ekun community in plain daylight.
The attempt to release some pigeons (eyele) onto the central market square by a group of fetish ritualists led by Mr. Jibola Famurewa infuriated the entire ancient village of Iperindo, the seat of Atakunmosa East Local Government.
The opposition faced by the ritualists was fierce and came to an end at the Divisional Police headquarters. By ‘detaining’ the cage and the pigeons and promising to see to it that justice is done, the DPO attempted to soothe tense nerves.
The residents of the town eagerly anticipate the imminent docking of the desperate ritualist. In fact, Mr. Famurewa needs to explain why, after enjoying two terms in the Federal House of Representatives with their support, he had to punish the residents of Iperindo Ogere-Ekun with such a wicked gambit. They are more baffled by his recent use of fetishism in his despicable bid to defeat LULEISM in the elections in February 2023.
FEJEWE, who appears to have things going for him till the July 16 grand lule, may never be as lucky as Famurewa.
Hon. Olumide Osunlana expressed his dissatisfaction at the pointless attempt. Now that the ludicrous APC is gone, our people in the local government and throughout the state should keep a constant SEE.
In ward 10 Atakunmosa East, some miscreants leaders in the luled party were caught spreading corn and beans at popular junctions in similar diabolic moves. The consensus of opinion is that the DPO and the law enforcement agencies should expedite action on the ELEYELE SAGA and never allow the matter to be swept under carpet.
