Singer,Asa slams Joeboy with N300m copyright infringement notice over his new song responds. – Lifestyle Nigeria

Asa alleged that Joeboy used a song she and producer Tempoe co-wrote at a recording session in 2020 in a letter she submitted to him through her attorney.

With regard to his recently released song, “Contour,” sensational Nigerian singer Bukola Elemide, better known by her stage name Asa, has sent a copyright infringement complaint against Joeboy.

The 40-year-old singer wrote Joeboy a letter through her attorney alleging that he exploited a song she and producer Tempoe wrote together during a recording session in 2020.

She continued by requesting N300,000,000 for the infringement as well as an additional 60% (sixty percent) publishing split on the song.

She also ordered him to remove the song from all music streaming platforms within 24 hours, and tender a written apology to her.

The letter reads in part,

“We hereby demand that you immediately remove the Song from all DSPs and any other platforms within twenty-four (24) hours of your receipt of this letter, with a written apology issued to our Client as well as halt any additional infringements of our Composition, including any other infringements.

We also demand that the sum of N300,000,000 (Three Hundred Million Naira) as well as a 60% (sixty percent) publishing split on the Song be assigned to our Client.”
