‘We Do Not Want Him As Our President’

Taylor Swift has criticised Donald Trump ahead of the US Presidential Election.

The pop star made a rare public declaration of intent against the current President, and urged fans to ‘vote early’ as 3 November gets ever closer.

Swift’s main argument of attack against Trump includes his current ‘dismantling’ of the US Postal Service (USPS), which some have criticised as a blatant effort to make in harder for people to deliver mail-to ballots in the election.

The tweets in question are just another show of intent from the 1989 hitmaker, who famously took an apolitical stance for most of her early career.

Swift’s statement reads: ‘Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly: He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power.

‘Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely. Request a ballot early. Vote early.’\"\"

Trump has yet to comment on Swift’s comments.

The US President is looking to secure a second and final term in the White House this November, where he will be facing off against former Vice President Joe Biden, who served under Barack Obama.

Biden recently announced that US congresswoman Kamala Harris would be his running mate for the Vice President position, making her the first Black and South Asian woman to be up for the position.
