#OkadaBan: Lagos Residents Speak on Impact

The Twitter community is awash with several experiences of many commuters in Lagos state over the recent ban on the motorcycle (Okada) and tricycle (Keke Napep).

Police have been seen to be arresting people not taking into cognisance that the ban is only affecting six local government and nine Local Government Development Councils (LCDAs).

According to some of the commuters who had to trek long distance due to the absence of Okada, the Police officers are having a field day as the places used to be flooded by Okada riders are now deserted, leaving them to their fate.

I heard there are new apps due to this Lagos #OkadaBan called OBack and GbemiPon, you order the nearest backer who comes, carries you on his back to your destination. Imagine yourself, somebody’s father, in suit with briefcase on someone’s back.

Its only the yellow buses that deserve this ban..here’s why??

– these guys don’t obey traffic light

– they always take one way causing unnecessary hold up

– you will never see LASMA stop or caution them like they’re above the traffic laws

Anyways, what do I know??#OkadaBan
