“We have no one else to blame” — Jurgen Klopp

Latest entertainment gist

Liverpool obviously did not see their defeat to Manchester United coming before the Red Devils did the comeback to haunt their Merseyside visitors late on in extra time of the FA Cup and neither did manager Jurgen Klopp.

The German who had the one chance to inspire Liverpool to a historically quadruple in his last season with the Reds, faced what was a shocker in the last minute thanks to an Amad Diallo strike past goalie, Caiomhin Kelleher to make it 4-3 on the day.

This was after Liverpool had taken the lead twice, first in the first half after going down to a Scott McTominay lead, and in first half of extra time thanks to Harvey Elliott. However, the Merseyside team struggled to maintain control of the game and then suffered a rather cruel fate at Old Trafford.

Speaking of the game, Jurgen Klopp rued the missed chances while the game was at 1-2.

He said in his post-match interview;

“We could have won the game and we would have deserved it. But United deserved it as well. At 2-1 up we had so many chances to kill the game. Last pass not right, or in a rush in some moments. The rest is already history, if you want.”

Jurgen Klopp goes on to insist that;

“The longer the game goes, the decision-making does not get any better. Congratulations to United, going to the semi-final, we have a game less, or have two games less, and we try to use that in the next few weeks,”

The sad defeat sees Liverpool exit the FA Cup while their arch rivals are set to meet Coventry City at Wembley.

Tinubu reveals source of terrorism financing in Nigeria

Latest entertainment gist

President Bola Tinubu has stated that illegal mining is the major source of terrorism funding in Nigeria and Africa at large.

The president disclosed this on Monday, April 22, at the opening ceremony of a two-day African High-Level Meeting on Counter-terrorism, hosted by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in Abuja.

He emphasized that it is money from other places that have been fuelling illegal mining in Africa, which has in turn been funding terrorism.

According to him, illegal mining, which has robbed countries on the continent of the natural resources that the government ought to have been deployed to meet their national needs is now being hijacked by terrorist groups in exchange for foreign cash, which is in turn used to buy more arms and ammunition.

“While we seek to address the root causes of terrorism, we must also attack the roots that feed this evil branch. Evolving from the tactics of yesterday, terrorism is becoming a greater threat as it perfects ways to continuously finance, re-equip, and re-supply itself for its sinister mission.

“Not only does it kidnap people, it kidnaps precious resources. Billions upon billions of dollars that legitimate governments should be using to sculpt better societies by providing education, health care, and food for its people now go to pay for weapons and mayhem.

“Look at the illegal mining that plagues so many of our nations today. Those who think illegal mining has no connection with financing terrorism are sorely mistaken. The international community has both the moral and legal obligation to help in this cause because it is outside money not African money that fuels the illegal operations.

“We shall be knocking on this door of the international community to answer this call for justice, peace, and fair play”, he said.

The record for the longest marathon DJ concert live stream is 51 hours, and was achieved by Mark Ursa, a Belgian DJ in Salvador, Brazil who played from June 19 to 21, 2020.

Obinna Ajuonuma aka DJ Obi attempted and completed a 240-hour marathon at a Lagos cafe and is said to currently hold the record. However, Guinness World Records archives do not show that they have confirmed the record.

With over 16 years of experience behind the turntables, DJ Bella’s journey towards this monumental feat has been driven by passion, determination, and a desire to pave the way for female DJs in the industry.

In an exclusive interview with Skabash, DJ Bella’s sister, Vivian revealed that this ambitious undertaking had been in the works long before the recent surge in record-breaking attempts.

Vivian shed light on DJ Bella’s deep-rooted motivation, emphasizing her sister’s aspiration to make meaningful impact in the male-dominated realm of DJing. With a fervent belief in the power of representation, DJ Bella has made it her mission to shatter stereotypes and inspire other aspiring female DJs to pursue their dreams relentlessly.

While the financial investment required for such an ambitious endeavor was substantial, Vivian chose not to disclose the exact amount, underscoring the magnitude of the commitment involved. However, it’s evident that DJ Bella’s dedication to her craft knows no bounds, as she continues to push the boundaries of what is achievable in the music world.
