Fast & Furious: ‘F9 THE FAST SAGA’- Rescheduled for May 2021 To Avoid Competition

Universal Studios has announced that, the release date for the ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise: ‘F9 THE FAST SAGA’ has been postponed from April 2nd to May 28th, 2021.
Few days ago, ghgossip.com carried a story about the release date of the new James Bond movie ‘No Time To Die’ been pushed back from November 2020 to April 2, 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Universal Studios wants to avoid launching two of its biggest blockbuster franchise movies on the same day, so to avoid both movies competing with each other, the studios decided to rescheduled the ‘F9 THE FAST SAGA’ movie to May 28, 2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic pushed the movie which was originally scheduled to be release on May 22, 2020, to April 2, 2021.

Universal Studios has invested about $200 million in production of this movie and two Fast and Furious movies have surpassed $1 billion in sales, so, they will need theaters to be open worldwide to get this movie full impact and also to maximize the return on investment from this moneymaker.
