5 Reality TV Relationships That Crashed Outside Of The Show

Building a sustainable relationship is very difficult phenomena which take different dimensions. What works for A and B might have a completely different effect on C and D. Some of our favourite reality TV shows always have ways of testing our affections and fandom for our favourite reality TV stars, most especially during their stay on the show but why does almost always crash bitterly once they leave the show was it all a facade?

Some of the biggest new celebrities in recent years who have gone from relevantly nobody to somebody everyone wants to be known or associated with are some of the products Reality TV shows like BBNaija, Ultimate Love, The MTN Yello Star. Before these ones, we had the MTN Project Fame, Maltina Family Dancehall.

The biggest reality show in Nigeria at the moment is the Big Brother Naija show, which has never failed to serve us drama and plenty more drama year after year. One of the favourite drama they serve up is relationship issues or beef between two ladies duelling over a particular guy. The newest relationship TV show to bring two persons together who have actually stayed together outside of the show “The Ultimate Love” TV show the show which is completely based around creating relationships and bringing lovers together.

But the question here is that once they leave the show a lot of this relationships crash or they don’t survive was it all some sort of acting, a facade to court the attention of the viewers what was it really all about. Below we discuss some of the most popular Reality TV show relationships that crashed outside of the house or the show;

1. Mercy Eke And Ike Onyeama:
   They were almost the perfect couple while on the show, there seemed to be so much chemistry between them to the extent that Ike Onyeama actually sacrificed his winnings on the show so as to keep his in-house lover in the game while he was booted out. Yes, Mercy Eke did go on to win the show and the couple seemed to continue their romance outside the house even started another reality TV show of their’s MercyXIke. But barely a year on and the couple have called it quit in a dirty online relationship fights with both sides insulting and calling each other out. Such a tragedy.

   

2. Nina Ivy and Miracle:
   This couple was seen as the power couple during their stay in the house. Miracle Ikechukwu Igbokwe won the season 3 of the show, their relationship was a thing of envy while they were on the show but hey! it barely lasts a couple of months once the show was over. Was it all fake like really!!
3. Lilo And Eric: 
   Oh no, this was the latest instalment of the drama the BBNaija had to offer on the relationship train. The couple served us a lot of romance during their 3-weeks stay together on the show. The lady in this romance Lilo Aderogba shattered Eric’s heart once she was outside of the house she said all of the flirting, kissing and touchy touchy was all for votes and nothing more leaving poor Eric losing hope completely in the truism of relationships on the show.
4. Tobi Bakre and Cee-c:
   Tobi Bakre the Nollywood’s very own bad fresh player was the lover boy of the BBNaija season 3 house but he sought for love in a wrong place. Which was with Ceec they just never got going but at a point, they seemed to finally click. But really this was pre-destined to fail because love doesn’t care at all.
5. Rosie and Kachi:
   This is another brutal relationship scandal. A disaster that happened with the loss of an unborn soul. That left the winning couples hating on each other. The hating was so bad that the male partner Kachi had to come out and called out the show of putting pressure on them by giving them a short window gap of getting married because of the investment money meant to be used for their wedding. He even further accused the show of not following up on their progress as a couple.

But hey, that isn’t to say there aren’t some that were actually successful even after the show, to every Tobi Bakre and Cee-c there is the Teddy A and Bam Bam, to Rosie and Kachi there is Olajide Obaoye and Chris Addanna, so its not all facade after all. Just maybe some are! who knows but we love the drama and looking forward to more come 2021.
