Barack Obama Raps Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”, The Hype Song From His 2008 Presidential Election

The former US President Barack Obama recently released his new book called “A Promised Land“, and for the promo run, he teamed up with production company ATTN for a video series where he will talk about some of the big highlights of the book.

In one of the promo video, the 44th US President talks about the two tracks which helped him get inspiration during the Presidential Campaign. He recites one of the tracks, which is Eminem’s iconic single “Lose Yourself“.

“When I needed some inspiration on the presidential campaign, I often turned to music,” says Obama. “It was rap that got my head in the right place. Two songs especially, Jay-Z’s ‘My 1st Song’ and Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself.’ Both were about defying odds and putting it all on the line. Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, would capture it? Or just let it slip.” Watch it below.

Rema took to his X page to share his sentiment on the generally established position of the top three artistes out of Nigeria.

He however said there was no big 3 anymore as they’re commonly called, rather a big 4 which presumably includes himself following some strides of his own.

While fans and followers debated his intentions, Rema seemed to clarify as he said Afrobeat was better than everything else.

This plays into a recent abandonment of the genre by main acts like Davido, Fireboy, Wizkid and so many more.

Rema is however known for his advocacy that Afrobeat remains supreme rather than the new sub genres other artistes are attempting to create.
