The acting Eje of Ankpa in Ankpa LGA, Shuaibu Usman has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen in Kogi State.
Reports have it that he was kidnapped on Friday, 18th December while he was entering the mosque to pray around 5:30am.
Kogi commissioner of police, Ayuba Ede said security has been strengthened to control the situation. He further went on to say that the abductors are yet to make any contacts to the victim’s family.
Kingsley Fanwo, the state commissioner for information informed newsmen that they have set in motion a more stringent security network to ensure that the traditional ruler is rescued safely.
Fanwo said;
“The state government is working with security agencies to ensure his release.
“The Kogi state government has also put machinery in motion to ensure even more stringent security network during this yuletide.
“The people of Ankpa should remain calm as government is on top of the situation. We remain committed to security of lives and property.”
