Eminem Reveals Why He Apologized To Rihanna on “Zeus”

Eminem talks about Apology To Rihanna.

Yesterday, Eminem appeared on SiriusXM where he went through his latest Side B “Music To Be Murdered By” album with Gray Rizzy. Before playing the fan-favorite Zeus, Gray Rizzy asks, “This song that you have is creating a lot of talks, Zeus. The first part is you apologizing to Rihanna for a leaked verse that got out. It said a lot about you as a man. You’ve been on a record about the friendship that you have with Rihanna, but it made it onto the project, why the apology now.

It was pretty recently that verse that got leaked,” explains Eminem. “And honest to god I told Paul when it first happened, first I didn’t know how somebody got it, second of all I have no, zero recollection of remembering doing that verse. The rhyme scheme didn’t even sound familiar to me, so I was caught off guard too, I was like wtf? I said that? And that like early stages of Relapse Record that I was working on so you know 10 plus years old but I’m not making excuses, I said it and I was wrong for saying that, it was f**king stupid.

He continues, “A lot of times with the Relapse record when I first started learning how to Rap again because of the drug situation that I went through and having to relearn again a lot of things, that was one of those things. It was like, if it rhymes, say it. I think being able to look back, I mean it’s not really an excuse. But I’m just saying like, there was a phase that I was going through with that Relapse Record, I don’t know it’s just one of those things I just said it cause it rhymed. I’m sure looking back now, I should’ve thought better of it. It’s one of those things I don’t even remember recording, but record a lot of songs so it’s tough sometimes.
