According to the National Human Rights Commission, the girl has been recognized as Laritu Safiyanu.
She was chained and caged by her relations in Gyaza village within the Kankai Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The NHRC Katsina State Coordinator, Barrister Adamu Umaru Kasimu, mentioned the fee obtained data from a Good Samaritan intimating them of Laritu’s imprisonment in Gyaza on the grounds of alleged psychological well being.
