A young Nigerian man is currently in court for allegedly killing his daughter.
The man is a 35-year-old security guard identified as Patrick Akpan and he is now before the Lagos Magistrate court in Yaba.
The daughter he subjected to severe beating leading to her death was just three years old when she died with the incident happening on December 27. 2020.
As we speak, he has charged for manslaughter and the prosecution counsel, ASP Thomas Nurudeen in his submission to the court indicated that the suspect committed the offence in Jakande Estate, Lekki phase 1, Lagos.
He stated that the suspect beat up his daughter with a belt for messing up his house adding that the deceased died in her mother’s arms while being taken to the hospital.
The Chief Magistrate P.E. Nwaka never considered the plea of Akpan as he ordered that the case file be duplicated and a copy sent to the Lagos Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
