Abuyere, Akintayo, Olumide, Okinbaloye, Ipidapo, Akinseye Task Youths On Following Growth Process At Skyewise Entrepreneurship Summit

The Skyewise Entrepreneurship Summit 2023 which held at the cozy Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, CBD Abuja Nigeria has come and gone with the huge success and myriads of milestones it recorded. 

With the theme, “Unveiling the Power Within You For National Entrepreneurial Growth and Development”, the 2023 edition was the third in the series. 

Notable CEOs, including leadership excellence coach and the founder of Guardian Of The Nation International (GOTNI) Dr. Linus Okorie, popular AOP, Adaora Sydney Jack, Tofunmi Akinseye actress Juliet Ibrahim, Emmanuel Ekpa, businessman Ibidapo Lawal, Dr. Ifeoma Anyanwu, Dr. Summy Smart Francis, Inonge Mbula and others attended the summit. 

In his opening remarks, the Managing Director, Skyewise Investment Services Ltd, Mr. Oluwole Senkoya reiterated the commitment of the organization towards making massive investment towards the development of the young population which he described as the bedrock of the nation’s economic development. 

Also speaking, the GMD of Skyewise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere noted that the strength of the nation’s economy relies on entrepreneurship, a field he said the youths wield enormous strength in. 

According to Abuyere, small and medium scale businesses boost the economy greatly, emphasizing that the youths should utilize their creativity to build the nation’s economy. 

“A new Nigeria is possible and the future of Africa is in entrepreneurship. We are passing the message that we do not need to wait for the government anymore, look within you for national transformation. 

“Every idea you have seen over the years was formed from within individuals. Within yourself, there is so much you can give to the society and before you know it, the world will be better for it”, he said.

Tariff Hike: Tribunal Orders Substituted Service As Multichoice Evades Bailiff – Lifestyle Nigeria

A Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) sitting in Abuja has granted an application for substituted service of the interim order, restraining Multi-Choice Nigeria Limited from its plan to increase tariffs on DStv and Gotv packages beginning From May 1.

The three-member tribunal, presided over by Saratu Shafii, granted the applicant’s motion following allegations that officers of the pay-TV firm in Abuja office refused to receive service of the order and other court documents.

The applicant, Festus Onifade, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday that the CCPT bailiff alleged that one of the company’s top managers at the Abuja office said the documents be channelled through their Lagos office, which is the headquarters.

The tribunal, therefore, gave the order of substituted service pursuant to Section 48 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA), 2018; and Part N, Order 14 Rule 11(1) of the CCPT Rule, 2021.

In the certified true copy of the order of substituted service, Shaffi directed that the ex-parte order in suit number: CCPT/OP/2/2024, be pasted at the corporate headquarters or any known address of the branches of the Multi-Choice Nigeria Limited across Nigeria.

She also ordered that the documents be sent to the company’s “known email address, social media handles and any means of communication publicly known for Multi-Choice and shall also be pasted in the CCPT communication outlet.

The documents had since been pasted at the Multi-Choice Abuja office located at Wuse II.

NAN reports that the tribunal had, on Monday, stopped MultiChoice from increasing its tariffs and cost of products and services scheduled to begin today.
