Anglican Church to debate over same-sex marriage

Despite significant Anglican disagreements over the topic in Britain and elsewhere, the Church of England will debate controversial plans enabling priests to administer blessings to same-sex couples on Wednesday.

Hundreds of people who are part of the General Synod, the church’s elected governing body, which meets twice or three times a year, will discuss and vote on the proposals bishops presented last month.

There are no changes to the rules that say Anglican priests can’t marry same-sex couples. The plans would allow churches to provide a “God’s blessing” for civil marriages and partnerships.

In an open letter last month, bishops also apologised directly to LGBTQ people for the “hostile and homophobic response” they have sometimes gotten in parishes. This was the first time bishops had done something like this.

The steps come after almost six years of internal debate, but they have been criticised by both those who support same-sex marriage and those who don’t. This shows that Anglicanism is breaking up all over the world.

Jayne Ozanne, a member of the Synod and an activist for LGBTQ rights, harshly criticised the late apology.

Kanye West sued for allegedly discriminating against black staff – Lifestyle Nigeria

Controversial American Rapper, Kanye West is in a fresh legal battle after a former employee filed a lawsuit accusing him of discriminatory behaviour towards black staff members at Donda Academy.

Benjamin Deshon Provo, a security guard who has been employed at the academy since 2021, claims that Kanye West consistently demeaned and harassed black employees. Provo further alleges that he was terminated for refusing to cut his dreadlocks.

lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, Provo endured considerable emotional distress due to West’s actions, which included insisting that staff members shave their heads. Provo declined to adhere to this demand because of his adherence to the Muslim faith.

Additionally, the lawsuit claims that white staff members were granted a $5 per hour pay raise, while black employees were not given the same increase.

Provo also alleges that Kanye West prohibited the teaching of books concerning Black history and culture at Donda Academy, including texts about influential figures like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr.

Provo seeks compensation for alleged discrimination, a hostile work environment, retaliation, breach of labour codes, and other grievances.

People are planning spiritual attacks at Junior Pope’s burial

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has raised the alarm about alleged plans to carry out spiritual moves at the burial of late Junior Pope.

The actress made this known while dragging colleague Zubby Michael for mourning the loss of Pope as she claimed he never celebrated him while alive.

This is coming after Angela initially dragged him for not posting about his death. She went on to say that God told her people would plan to steal something from the burial of Pope to bind his spirit.
