Fulham defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford, with Alex Iwobi scoring a stunning stoppage-time goal that dented Erik ten Hag’s side’s top-four ambitions.
United had been in excellent form in 2024, going unbeaten and winning their last five games, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring seven goals in his last six.

Fulham squandered countless opportunities, and the only surprise was that it took them until the 65th minute to break the deadlock, with Calvin Bassey slamming the ball into the top of the net after United failed to deal with a set piece.
The hosts finally responded and levelled when Harry Maguire tapped in from close range after Bernd Leno fumbled a shot in his direction.
That goal flipped the tide in United’s favour, but Fulham responded with a sucker punch, with Iwobi scoring a 97th-minute counter-attack, leaving Ten Hag’s side eight points behind fourth-place Aston Villa.
