“With me, there is hope, things will get better” -President Tinubu assures Nigerians

Latest entertainment gist

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will give more attention to education and healthcare and provide the enablements for industrialization and investments under his vision of creating an economically stable and prosperous country.

Speaking at the second-term inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State in Owerri on Monday, President Tinubu said he is well-attuned to the concerns of citizens, assuring them that the challenges brought on by essential reforms are being addressed.

“In the past 40 years, a few people were cornering our common wealth, and calling it subsidy, but I call it wasteful.

“Right now, we are all bearing and sharing that pain. But things are looking up. Things will get better for the good of all Nigerians. With me, there is hope.

“I assure you that there will be substantial development in education for your children; priority on industrialization; healthcare will receive more allocation and attention. We will train more health workers,” the President said.

President Tinubu commended Governor Uzodimma for his stewardship in Imo State, describing him as the “real hope” of the state.

“It is a great honour for me to be here in Imo State. And to congratulate the people of Imo for being discerning and determined to vote into a second term, a very unique individual who resonates with a progressive agenda, Senator Hope Uzodinma,” he said.

The President said he is committed to building a united and secure country, noting the peace and security in the state, adding: “Before now, people were afraid of coming to Imo state, but today Imo is safe and open for business. What we have learned from this experience is the importance of unity, cooperation, and a focus on our internal security.”

President Tinubu implored the governor to work even harder for the people, emphasizing that hard work is the reward for re-election.

“I assure you that your hopes are renewed. Be assured of the support of the federal government to ensure rapid development of your state,” he concluded.

APC dismisses Pat Utomi’s call for collaboration between PDP, LP, and NNPP as “delusion of grandeur”

Latest entertainment gist

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the recent statement by Prof. Pat Utomi suggesting a possible merger or collaboration between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) ahead of the 2027 elections.

Utomi, an LP chieftain, has advocated for opposition parties to merge, reiterating the call recently on national television.

In a statement by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, the ruling party said Prof. Utomi’s remarks lacked seriousness.

Morka referred to Utomi as a “serial promoter of mega parties that never materialize” and cited a previous attempt in 2021 to launch a people-centred ideological mega party under the National Consultative Front (NCFront), which did not progress beyond news headlines.

The statement questioned the credibility of Prof. Utomi’s proposed collaboration, suggesting that his involvement might not transform the political parties he deemed “decadent and anti-people” into instruments of political and economic liberty for Nigerians.

The APC termed Utomi’s stance as an “unmitigated delusion of grandeur.”

The statement seen by Dockaysworld read: “As a serial promoter of mega parties that never materialize, Prof. Pat Utomi’s statement cannot be taken that seriously.

“In 2021, Prof Utomi and his collaborators disturbed the airwaves with plans to launch a people-centred ideological mega party under the auspices of the National Consultative Front (NCFront) to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). That plan did not go past the news headlines.

“Now in 2024, Prof. Utomi is touting a possible merger or collaboration between the Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the PDP, vastly the political parties, according to him, that are bereft of any ideological orientation or “did not manage to create an alignment with the Nigerian People to improve the quality of their lives.”

“One can only infer that Prof. Utomi may be positing that his personal involvement in the proposed alliance will transmogrify the same parties he has adjudged to be decadent and anti-people into bastions of political and economic liberty for Nigerians. That is an unmitigated delusion of grandeur.”

Mohbad’s management contradicts his father over singer’s ‘will’ + Update |

Latest entertainment gist

The management of the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has debunked claims that the singer left behind a will.

The management noted that the artist died without writing a will on how his assets should be distributed.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, in a recent interview with TVC, claimed that he discovered his son had a will.

In the interview, Joseph Aloba said, “I was so shocked when I heard that the 26 years had a will. As a father, I do not have something like that. I’ve never thought of writing my will.

“26-year-old boy was writing a will. Which is capital no! So they had to collaborate with the lawyer to put his hands into many things that are not right.”

Aloba also claimed that the will had a thumbprint and not a signature, alleging that the thumbprints were done after the singer’s death.

He said: “Mohbad is the kind of person that will never think of using his hand to thumbprint. Instead of that, he will sign. Because he was dead, they had to call a lawyer to do their own mathematics inside.

“I did not believe that. He cannot thumbprint, he is supposed to sign. I as his father cannot even say I want to thumbprint. I have my signature, he has his signature too. Simply because they cannot trace him, they had to use his hand to thumbprint many things there.”

However, reacting in a statement shared via the late singer’s Instagram page on Monday, his management debunked the claim describing it as “false and misleading”.

The statement partly read, “We would like to use this opportunity to share a few updates and highlight certain truths so that misconceptions and miscommunication do not persist.

“1. The Police Authorities have conducted an investigation and have communicated that the autopsy results from samples sent abroad will take a couple of months before they are shared.

“2. No member of Mohbad’s management or his lawyer has communicated the existence of a will or any such thumb-printed document (as has recently been FALSELY reported) to any member of the family or the public.

“We would like to state with certainty that if any such document did exist, it would have been duly registered with the Probate Registry. We, therefore, plead with everyone to refrain from sharing false and misleading statements like this.

“3. All accounts owned and controlled by Imole during his lifetime were immediately put on a Post No Debit order on the 12th of September 2023. This order remains valid till date. These accounts will be properly handed over to the family upon resolution of the internal dispute.”
