Borussia Dortmund to double Jude Bellingham’s salary to stop Real Madrid move

‘The Athletic’ says that Borussia Dortmund have got down to work to renew Jude Bellingham’s contract. By doing this, the Germans hope to prevent him from going to Real Madrid. If the youngster accepts Dortmund’s offer, he will go from earning three million euros a year to six.

‘The Athletic’ is the media outlet which has revealed the news. They report that the Germans are willing to offer him a salary of six million euros, which would be double what he gets now, three million a season. In addition, the agreement would include a buyout clause of 150 million euros which would force Real Madrid to completely empty their coffers if they wanted to sign him.

That said, Real Madrid have already made some progress, at least according to some leaks in the press. It is already known that the youngster has turned down an approach to extend his stay in the Bundesliga; his aim is to make Real Madrid happy as they are his favourite destinationj. He has also been linked with others such as Liverpool.

If Real Madrid end up signing Bellingham, they continue with their policy of the last few transfer windows of replacing older players with young talent. Last summer, Tchouameni and Camavinga joined the club while Casemiro went to Man Utd. Although Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are legends at the club because of their achievements, they will have to be replaced eventually.
