She will succeed Edward Enninful, the famed fashion magazine’s first male and first black editor, who served as editor-in-chief for six years. In June, Enninful announced his resignation.
Nnadi, who is now the editor of Vogue in New York, will be identified as the head of editorial content rather than the editor-in-chief. She worked as a writer and news director for the magazine for 13 years.
Nnadi’s appointment also makes her the first black female editor-in-chief of the industry’s premier fashion publication.
