Several deals were sealed late on Monday night, the deadline day for January transfers across most of Europe.

The biggest move of the window involved Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left Arsenal for Barcelona in a free transfer.

The Gabon international, 32, joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer, signing the deal late on Monday night.

The deal is expected to be announced on Tuesday.

The striker, who has scored 92 goals and made 20 assists in 163 games for the Gunners, has not played for them since December as a result of a disciplinary breach.

Barcelona had at one point feared the move was dead earlier on transfer deadline day, even after Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal for £56m on 31 January 2020, had flown to Spain.

In another big move on Monday night, Aaron Ramsey left Juventus for Rangers of Scotland.

The 31-year-old Wales international joined the Scottish Premiership champions on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Former Arsenal star Ramsey has been out of favour at Juventus under Massimiliano Allegri and has not played since making a substitute appearance in the Champions League in October.

“I am really pleased to be joining a club like Rangers,” he told the Rangers website.

“There is so much to look forward to between now and May.

“I had a number of offers on the table, but none matched the magnitude of this club, with European football and the chance to play in front of 50,000 fans every other week.”

In another significant switch, Donny van de Beek left Manchester United on loan for Everton.

The Dutchman has found playing time difficult since joining United in 2020, and he says he is raring to go at Goodison Park under new manager Frank Lampard.

“Now I can say I am an Everton player, I am really happy and can’t wait to help the team,” Van de Beek, 24, told EvertonTv.

“I think it is a great club… there are really good players here and I came because I want to help them go up the table.

“I hope to bring my football qualities, my passing, and, of course, scoring goals. It is a big part of my game to score and give assists and I will try to do that again. And it is not only offensive, you have to defend as a midfielder and I can do that as well.

“I had a really positive meeting with the new coach. We have the same ideas about football and he had a lot of influence on my decision.

“I played against him when I was at Ajax, and he was at Chelsea [as manager], so he knows me as a player. He thinks I have qualities that can help the team.

“I can learn a lot from him because he was a little bit in the same position – a midfield player who scored a lot of goals.

“He can help me a lot, so I think I’m in a good spot.

“I want to improve with Everton. There are always things that can be better and I work hard every day to do that.”

Tottenham Hotspur outcast Dele Alli also completed his switch to Everton on Monday night.

The England international joined on a two-and-a-half-year contract until the end of June 2024 and is Lampard’s first permanent signing.

Alli, who played 269 times and scored 67 goals for Spurs after joining in February 2015, expressed his delight at making the switch on an initial free transfer.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Everton, a huge club with a great fanbase and history,” the 25-year-old told the Everton website.

“I’m eager to get started and can’t wait for my first game in an Everton shirt.

“I’m looking forward to helping the team and the opportunity to work with the new manager Frank Lampard.”
