Do Not Brush Teeth In The Shower- Dentist

Dr. Payal Bhalla, lead dentist and clinical director of Quest Dental in England, has explained that trying to kill two birds with one stone by brushing your teeth while taking a shower could actually lead to health problems.

The first issue with brushing your teeth in the shower is the water temperature may be significantly warmer than what you would use at the sink. This can soften the bristles of your toothbrush, which could make them less effective in cleaning your teeth.

“Whilst most electric toothbrushes are waterproof, I wouldn’t recommend submerging them in water as it could damage the mechanism and bristles,” Bhalla said

Increasing Minimum Wage Won’t Hurt Inflation – TUC President

Festus Osifo, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) President, has stated that increasing the minimum wage for civil servants would not hurt inflation.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that Osifo who appeared on the ‘Morning Brief’ program on Channels Television on Wednesday, justified his stance by highlighting the increased revenue allocation to states since May 2023, and therefore, he believes that a pay raise is justified.

“If you look today, from May 2023 to date, revenue from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) to the state governments has tripled,” he said.

“This means the state government has more money to build roads and schools to purchase other items.

“The most critical aspect of production is labour. It is for you to take part of the money and pay workers. That won’t increase inflation because the money will be spent anyway; if you don’t give it to workers, it will be spent on other projects.

“Giving workers what is due them won’t necessarily worsen inflation.”

The TUC has proposed N615,000 as the new minimum wage for workers.

Osifo’s comments come at a time when Nigerians are facing economic hardship due to the removal of subsidies on petrol and the unification of the exchange rate windows.

May Day: Activist Sulaiman Celebrates With Nigerian Workers – Lifestyle Nigeria

A human rights activist, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman,has joined Nigeria workers to celebrate this year workers day celebration, thanking God for sparing their lives to witness another May Day celebration on Earth, describing the workers as partners in progress in developing this country.

The Pro-democracy activist commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the new salary percentage for the workers, urging the President to jack up the percentage of new wages increase approved by the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission for the Nigeria workers to make it 35 percent and 45 percent instead of newly approved 25 percent and 35 percent respectively because of the current economic reality in the country.

Comrade Adeniyi Sulaiman, equally, enjoined President Tinubu to address the current fuel scarcity ravaging the land that has brought untold hardship on the Nigeria masses, adding that the current fuel scarcity had skyrocketed the prices of goods and services in the land.

Sulaiman, who is Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) further disclosed that the additional percentage salary increase requesting for Nigeria workers was to ameliorate the current economic hardship facing the Nigeria workers and by extension, Nigeria masses, as a result of the subsidy removal policy of the President Bola Tinubu administration, urging the Federal and State Governments to consider the increase for its workforce.

The CHRSJ Chief further enjoined the Labour leaders in the country to use their Unions platform to seek for the welfarism of the Nigeria masses and not for the increase of salaries of their members alone always.

This was contained in a statement issued by the CHRSJ’S Media office and copies were made available to newsmen on Tuesday evening, called on the Nigeria workers to do the annual celebration moderately, saying that the present situation did not call for elaborate celebration of workers day but for sobber reflections because of the present multi- dimensional problems facing the land.

Comrade Adeniyi Sulaiman, who doubles as Convener, Save Lagos Group (SLG), noted that all hands should be on deck in order to finding the lasting solutions to the mirage of problems including; security, economy, corruption, and so on, confronting the country presently.

Moghalu: Ex-Presidential Candidate’s Wife Knocked For Asking Investors To Stay Away From Lagos

Lifestyle Nigeria gathered that Maryanne, the wife of the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party in the 2019 general elections, Kingsley Moghalu, has been heavily criticised for warning investors to stop investing in Lagos State.

This follows the recent demolition of a section of Landmark Beach, the Mami Chula Beach Lifestyle in the state, to pave the way for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

According to the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, the demolition began after he inspected kilometres 13, 16 and 20 to ensure the most economical and viable way to access the coastal roads without much damage.

He stressed that the demolition would affect several structures and added that compensation would be provided.

However, reacting to the demolition, Moghalu’s wife on Wednesday said investing in Lagos was at one’s own peril.
