Don\’t Trash Ghana When Congratulating Nigerians

Ghanaian singers Stonebwoy and Samini have had a clash in the public, following Nigerian artistes Wizkid, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti, Made Kuti and Tiwa Savage’s win at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
The 2021 edition of the prestigious awards ceremony was held in and around the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles on March 14, 2021 and the 5 Nigerians clinched some of the plaques.
Taking to his Twitter handle to celebrate his colleagues, Stonebwoy wrote, “With All Due Respect Let All other African Nations Give It Up For Nigeria For their Constant efforts in Holding the Mantle for Africa when it comes to entertainment On The Global Scene. Congrats for holding it down at the Grammys.. As for Ghana, smh I’ll be back“.

This did not sit well with Samini and he did not hesitate to reply. “Ghana will be ok if we begin to keep it 100 with each other as artists my gee .it starts from being honest and calling a spade a spade. Do you think they disrespect Idibia like you disrespect Samini?? #yearoftruth. before you give extra fake fans to Nigeria #checkyourself faker“, he fired.Stonebwoy wouldn’t let things slide and he reminded Samini of how he had just finished an online biff with Shatta Wale. “No disrespect, You just finished a twitter beef with shatta is it my turn now?? We know each other personally I cannot do this with you on social media”, he wrote.

Replying almost immediately, Samini expressed his disappointment in the Activate singer, referring to him as ‘sion’. He then advised him to congratulate Nigerians without trashing his country’s talents, just the same way Nigerians do not trash their legends. Photos Credit: Getty
