EndSARS: Oba Akiolu Returns To Palace After Two Months (Video)

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on Friday, returned to his palace, Iga Idungaran, Lagos Island, two months after he escaped from an attack on his palace.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Oreoluwa Finnih, in a video posted on Twitter, shows the monarch wearing a mask and dancing towards the palace with his entourage.

Finnih tweeted, “Our daddy is back home… Oba of Lagos, HRM, Alayeluwa Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu’s triumphant entry to Iga Idunganran Palace, today, Friday, January 1, 2021.”

Recall that the monarch was taken into safety by military officers when hoodlums, who had hijacked the #ENDSARS protests, stormed the place.

The hoodlums during the attack on Oba Akiolu’s palace made away with the staff of honour and plundered the palace for two days.

Lagos Island which house the Palace saw police stations, the family house of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other government properties destroyed during the protest.

Prophet Odumeje lands in Nigeria, says he’s back to raise the naira [Update]

Popular Nigerian pastor Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere aka Prophet Odumeje, has announced that he’s back to Nigeria to tackle the falling naira.

Odumeje who’s been in Europe for over a week for a concert amongst other things, returned today to mild fanfare from those who immediately recognized him at the airport.

The clergyman while greeting his fans and well wishers, spoke about the many powers in his command as a man of God which presumably include; Abido Shaker, Gandusa Gandusa, Danish Kabash, sanctum sanitarium and more.

He stated that he had used his powers to raise the naira but it had gone up in his absence hence, he was now back to finish his work.

Despite gains in the past couple of weeks, the naira has seen a recent nosedive, hovering between 1,200 and 1,400 naira.

Family announce late actor Jnr Pope’s burial date

Late Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo will be laid to rest on Friday, 17th March, his family has announced.

Recall that the actor and four other actors drowned after their boat capsized in Anam River in Anambra State on 10 April while returning from a movie shoot.

Of a total of 12 individuals who boarded the ill-fated boat, only seven were rescued alive while five died, including Mr Odonwodo.

 

Mr Odonwodo’s burial arrangements began on 23 April with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta State, his family announced via the actor’s burial poster.

According to the burial announcement on the poster which was signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, another requiem mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A, Enugu on 13 May.

Another veteran actor dies – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

Veteran Yoruba actor, Ganiyu Oyeyemi popularly known as Ogunjimi, has passed away.

Ogunjimi’s death was announced by a Yoruba actor, Kunle Afod, in a post on his Instagram page.

Afod wrote, “We tried our best but God loves you more.

“May his soul rest in peace. Baba Ogunjinmi, RIP, Sun re oooo.”
