Former Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor has lambasted Manchester United and praised Juventus star Adrian Rabiot for walking away from a deal to move to Old Trafford.

Agbonlahor launched a scathing attack on United after the latest bad news for the Red Devils in the transfer market.

Manchester United have been linked with several players, including Frankie de Jong of Barcelona but most of them seem disinterested in joining them.

Even Cristiano Ronaldo, the biggest name in the Red Devils’ ranks, is reportedly looking for a way out of the club in search of Champions League football this season.

To make matters worse, Erik ten Hag’s side have begun the season in a very poor style, losing two out of two of their opening games and languishing at the bottom of the table.

And as the deal for Rabiot collapsed on Tuesday, Agbonlahor wonders what the Frenchman would gain by moving to Old Trafford since they refuse to pay him the weekly wages he is demanding.

United have now turned their attention to the more established Real Madrid midfielder, Casemiro and Agbonlahor feels they are being desperate.

“I don’t blame Rabiot. If they won’t give him top dollar, why would he leave?” he said on talkSPORT.

“Now they want Casemiro? It’s desperation. They [have]not learned from Varane?”

“A shambles of a club!”
