Funke Akindele-Bello Explains How She Knew JJC Skillz Was The Right Man For Her

Ace Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello has revealed during a recent interview the challenges she was faced with before she finally settled down with her music mogul husband. She explained that she had to surmount all of the prejudicial talks of him having 3-baby mamas and that comes with a lot of baggage.

Funke Akindele-Bello said she was faced with insults that she settled and didn’t go for the best options available to her but rather she settled. The actress said what she had to do when all of these statements were being made was that she had to give herself a pep talk and come to the understanding that she was 39-years-old and it would be difficult for her at that age to find a man who was single or not married, which she claimed if that was what it was to be then such a man was battling with terrestrial wars. Funke Akindele-Bello whose box office super hit movie Omo Ghetto {The Saga} which she co-producer with her husband, broke the record of the highest-grossing movie ever in Nigeria yet, talked about her relationship and married life during an interview with Today’s Woman Magazine, where she explained how she was able to convince herself the JJC Skillz was the right man for her.

In her words;

“There were rumours on set that he was being bossy. People were saying that he has three baby mamas. They now started this, ‘ Funke settles for less’ talk. I read comments like ‘three children? Baggage or why can’t she just settle with someone single?’ So, I decided to give myself the pep talk.”

Speaking further, the mother of two said “I stood in front of the mirror and told myself, you are 39. Which of your mate is a single guy, or which one older than you is single, except he’s a widower or a divorcee at 40? If he’s not married, Ogun aye n ba ja (he is battling with terrestrial wars).“

“Abdul – is he bossy? No. you’re together with him always. Abdul is forgiving and that is great! Someone has dealt with Abdul, he has forgiven the person, and he has moved on. He even invited the person on a project, can you imagine?”

“I can be very vindictive, I will give my everything but once you mess up, to correct it is a problem for me, and I’m like for this man to be like this, he’s a good man. His kids are grown, and their mothers are all married, happily married, in their homes! I put it in before God that if it is in thy will for me to marry Abdul, let it work, but if there will be problems, let everyone go in peace. That’s what I told God, it’s you and I leave it to you.” Funke Akindele-Bello said
