Latest Politics updatein nigeria

Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday, said there was still room for the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, “to actualise their presidential aspiration after the second-term tenure of President (Bola) Tinubu in 2031.”

The ruling party chair also applauded the Supreme Court’s decision which upheld the victory of President Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.

Ganduje, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Edwin Olofu, on Thursday, said the judgment had laid to rest all claims by the opposition political parties that the votes at the presidential poll were manipulated in favour of Tinubu.

He stated that the outcome of the Supreme Court verdict would now pave the way for Tinubu to concentrate on implementing the ‘Renewed Hope’ mandate of the APC for the benefit of Nigerians.

“There is still room for both Obi and Atiku to actualise their presidential aspiration after the second-term tenure of President Tinubu in 2031,” he said.

2024: We’ll Lose Ondo Gov Election If…  — APC Chieftain

Latest Politics updatein nigeria

Lifestyle Nigeria gathered that A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bamidele Oloyeloogun said the party will lose the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election if Saturday’s primary is not cancelled.

Oloyeloogun stated this at a press conference in Akure on Tuesday.

Recall that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa emerged as the candidate of APC for the November 16 governorship election

Governor Aiyedatiwa scored 48,569 votes in the poll, to defeat the other 15 aspirants.

The Chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee and Governor of Kogi, Usman Ododo declared Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the primary on Monday.

But, Oloyeloogun described the conduct of the primary as a “fraud” against the party and its members in the state.

Oloyeloogun said, “As a leader in APC in Ondo State, l want to warn that if the purported April 20 primary is not cancelled, APC will lose the Nov. 16 governorship election.

“It is on record including that of the Independent National Electoral Commission, that there was no ward out of the 203 wards in the state that election was held, they just manufactured figures.

“The evidence is that, today our members are not jubilating because the process that led to the announcement and declaration of the winner was a fraud perpetrated against them.

“Today in Ondo State, APC members have their placard in their heart and they will display it during the Nov. 16 governorship election no matter the level of intimidation.

“As someone who had contested election four times and won, I know the implications of the charade called primary on Saturday.

“Those who came to Ondo State to perpetrate this evil called primary against our members should be held accountable when the chips are down and the seed germinates in November.”

Oloyeloogun, a former speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to salvage the party by ensuring the cancellation of the primary election.

Ododo was appointed head of the seven-man committee that conducted Saturday’s governorship primary election in all the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, while former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, served as secretary.

While presenting the report, Ododo said,

He said, “The APC primary election has successfully produced a candidate to fly the flag of our great party come November 16, 2024, in Ondo State. Ganduje Likens His Suspension To Africa Magic Drama

Latest Politics updatein nigeria

Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, who was reportedly suspended from his ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has finally addressed the issue.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that Ganduje spoke about his suspension when he received the official reports of Saturday’s governorship primary election in Ondo State from the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo-led committee on Tuesday.

The former Kano Governor’s suspension was announced by the ward’s Legal Adviser, Haladu Gwanjo, who led some party leaders to make the announcement.

Gwanjo hinged the suspension on an alleged bribery case brought against Ganduje and his wife, and the decision was taken by nine executive members of the APC ward.

Despite efforts by Kano APC to abort the move by suspending the ward executives for their roles, a Kano High Court order was granted, restraining Ganduje from parading himself as the APC national chairman.

However, another Federal High Court injunction presided over by Justice A.M Liman, was granted after Ganduje filed an exparte motion seeking to enforce his fundamental right to a fair hearing.

Ganduje accused the New nigeria People’s Party and Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, of being behind his purported suspension to embarrass him.

He said, “We were so astonished when we heard the news but we were not surprised when we discovered that the great threat that APC overwhelmingly poses to other parties is real and Kano State is not an exception.

“The government in Kano State is behind this drama. Even the drama is one kind of drama that is called Africa Magic. This is Africa Magic and it is not leading democracy anywhere. It is a negative innovation where members who belong to a different political party, not even our members, let alone being elected executive members of either the ward or to the highest level at the state, meet themselves and take resolutions that affect the nation as far as our party is concerned, that is not acceptable.

“Our party cannot be distracted, we assure you. Our attention cannot be diverted. We are focused. We know where we are heading. We know our objectives and we know how to achieve our objectives”.
