Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu today met with Public Servants of the Lagos State Public Service and announced a surprise salary increment for the workers.
Lifestyle Nigeria reports that the announcement by the Governor was met with a lot of cheers and admiration from the people
Governor Sanwo-Olu said in his address:
“I’ve looked around and I know that in the country, there’s pressure. I know that in the country, there’s high level of inflation”
“Last month at the cabinet meeting, I instructed the Head of Service Office and the Ministry of Staff Training and Pension to start work on how we are going to increase the entire salary of public servants ”
“We are not waiting for Federal Government, This is Lagos”
“We are going to take care of our public service because once we do that, not only would we expect a lot more from you, but the citizens will see the benefits of doing the right thing.
“We don’t want the union to wait and come and hold us to ransom.We want a government that is proactive that would reflect on the people and we would make that happen”
