I Miss Being Beaten Up By Diamond Platnumz

\"\"\"\"

Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu has claimed her ex-boyfriend, Diamond Platnumz, was a woman beater but she did enjoy the beating.

\"\"

\"\"
Sepetu, 31, dated the musician, 30, between 2012 and 2014 in an on-and-off affair.

Speaking to Tanzania’s Ijumaa Wikienda,, Wema Sepetu shockingly stated that one of the things she misses most about dating Diamond was “how he beat me up”.

\"\"

\"\"
“He would beat me up thoroughly,” said Wema. “Ironically, I loved it when he battered me, I just don’t know why that was the case. But, I remember he would pamper me after assaulting me, and, I think I loved it because he’d give me attention after the battering. Honestly speaking, I miss being beaten up by him, a lot,” said Wema.

\"\"

\"\"
“I remember there was a day he saw a suggestive message on my phone. Out of anger, he gave me a hard slap on the cheek. My siblings came to know that I was a victim of domestic abuse. They pleaded with me to leave him, but I told them that they should leave me alone as I was enjoying being beaten up by him.”

\"\"

\"\"Diamond Platnumz is yet to respond to his ex-lover’s allegations.

In a 2016 interview Diamond Platnumz said – at the time – that there was no woman he had loved more than Wema Sepetu. “I loved her so much that at times when I felt I was going to lose her to another man, I would cry over her,” said Diamond.

\"\"

\"\"
The artiste and the film star went separate ways in 2014, with Diamond starting a relationship with Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan in November that year. Wema Sepetu, on the other hand, got into an affair with Tanzanian comedian and Big Brother Africa bigshot Idris Sultan.

Both subsequent relationships failed, forcing Diamond and Wema to look for new love elsewhere. Diamond, thereafter, got into a relationship with Kenya’s Tanasha Oketch. The affair, which began in November 2020 lasted 15 months, ending in February 2020.\"\"

ASUU begins indefinite strike in Nigerian varsity

On Thursday, May 2, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Abuja chapter has commenced an indefinite strike.

Dr. Sylvanus Ugoh, Chairman of the Branch, acknowledged the event, saying the resolution was made during a congress meeting held at the institution’s Permanent Site.

Platinumpost reports that members of the UniAbuja chapter of ASUU have been at loggerheads with the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’allah and the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman over the processes for the appointment of a new VC.

An advertorial that surfaced in a national daily on March 15, 2024, sought a replacement for Na’Allah.

However, ASUU members, in a conference, rejected the ad, declared it “illegal,” and stated that it was not from the governing council.

Ugoh noted that the Universities Miscellaneous Provision Act 1993 as amended; 2003 and 2012 (Section 3, subsections 1 and 2) empowers only the governing council to advertise the VC’s seat when declared vacant.

“You will recall that the university administration placed an advert on the vacancy of the post of a Vice-Chancellor on Friday 15th March 2024,” Ugoh had said.

He argued that no other organ or individual is legally vested with the power to initiate the procedure of appointing a successive VC.
