‘Donald Trump is a core racist’ – John Legend – Lifestyle Nigeria

'Donald Trump is a core racist’ – John Legend

American singer and songwriter, John Legend has described former United States president, Donald Trump as a “tried-and-true, dyed in the wool racist.”

Legend claimed that Trump had always shown racist tendencies even before he became the 45th President of America, stressing that he barred black people from his facilities years back.

He further asserted that the Republican candidate in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections “clearly subscribes to the notion of genetic hierarchy within humanity.”

He said his immigration policy reeks of racism.

“He [Donald Trump] has made it clear throughout his life that he believes black people are inferior. He believes that to his skull, to his bones,” John Legend was quoted on Daily Loud.

“He wouldn’t let us [Black people] live in his buildings back in the day, but also when you hear some of the stray comments he makes, he clearly believes in the genetic hierarchy of humanity and he is racially determined.

“So he is a tried-and-true, dyed in the wool racist. In the core of his being, he is a racist. I don’t want to hear what he has to say about what he has done for black people, he is but done very little for us and he is at his core, truly a racist.

“You even hear what he says about immigration and what countries he wants people to come in from, they are all very white.”

Despite his ongoing trial, Donald Trump would run against current President, Joe Biden on 5th November in America’s first rematch election in almost 70 years.

Why I didn’t build any school as Anambra governor

Latest entertainment gist

2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has explained why he did not construct a single new school during his tenure as governor of Anambra state.

Ex presidential aide Reno Omokri had questioned Obi’s administration, challenging the former Anambra state governor and his followers to present a single school he instituted in his eight years as governor.

Reno promised a reward of 10,000 dollars to anyone who could show a school built by Obi.

In his reaction, Obi stated during a press conference on Wednesday, April 24, in Abuja that individuals who made such claims had not taken advantage of his manifesto.

He said that Anambra state was ranked 26th in the nation when he arrived, with shuttered schools and a broken educational system, saying that by the time he departed, Anambra had risen to the top.

He said: “I improved the quality, physical and mental well-being of the people, schools, had the basic things they needed and the people shone like stars and that was my manifesto.

“Building new schools when the old ones are moribund is just like building coastal lines when internal roads are impassable.”

Edo: Labour Party Demands Inclusion Of Party’s Nominated Running Mate In INEC Gov’ship List

Latest Politics updatein nigeria

The Labour Party Chapter in Edo State has called upon the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to include the name of their officially nominated running mate in the final list of Governorship candidates.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that this demand was made through an official statement issued by the Chairman of the Labour Party in Edo State, Comrade Lucky Ogbaloi, on Monday.

“The party wishes to directly address the issue regarding the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (“INEC”) final candidate list for the Edo State Gubernatorial Elections, published earlier today, Monday, April 22, 2024.

“While our gubernatorial candidate Olumide Akpata’s name is correctly listed, the deputy governorship candidate is listed as Oluyinka Faith Alufohai rather than our validly nominated running mate, Alhaji Asamah Yusuf Kadiri, SAN.

“We want to assure our party members and supporters that this is simply a technical error. Our team followed all necessary procedures and submitted Alhaji Kadiri’s name and credentials as the deputy governorship candidate, well within INEC’s stipulated window.

“Unfortunately, a technical glitch occurred at the end of the National Headquarters of our party during the submission process, resulting in the incorrect name appearing on the final list.

“We are currently actively engaged with INEC officials to rectify this issue immediately and our team has provided all requisite documentation demonstrating Alhaji Kadiri’s valid nomination.

“We have been following-up with INEC diligently, to ensure it updates its candidate list with the accurate information.

“We recognise the anxiety this error may cause, but urge our supporters to remain calm and steadfast in their commitment to our party’s vision. Your unwavering support and activism have been invaluable thus far, and we need you to continue spreading awareness of our platform and championing the positive change we represent.

“The Labour Party is determined to contest the forthcoming September 21, 2024, Edo State Governorship elections fairly and transparently. We should not allow this minor administrative hurdle to dampen our confidence or impede our momentum. Together, we shall overcome any obstacle, minor or major, as we continue our march towards restoring Edo State to its pride of place nationally.”
