A singer, Mercy Isoyip, aka Descushiel, has apologised to Nigerians and the Nigeria  Police Force for reciting the national anthem wrongly during the Conference for Senior Police Officers in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that the singer who was dressed in the police uniform during the conference went viral on Monday after she recited the national anthem wrongly and missed some lyrics at the event.

Netizens welcomed the development with knocks, trolling the singer, who was presumed to be a policewoman because of her outfit.

In a Update on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Descushiel apologised for her errors.

The Update was captioned, “I sincerely apologise for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem, I know such errors are inexcusable.

“My good people of our country, please accept my apology, as well as my assurance that I will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from recurring.

“God bless the Nigeria Police Force. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie has reacted after popular journalist Rufai Oseni had trended over a viral argument with a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Jesutega Onokpasa that had happened on Monday morning during the popular Arise TV show.

Oseni, who was interviewing Onokpasa during the show, disagreed with the chieftain’s view concerning the fuel subsidy removal.

While Oseni was still talking, Onokpasa tried to interrupt him, but the interviewer insisted on finishing his question.

“Let me finish Mr Onokpasa. Let me finish please.” Oseni insisted.

Onokpasa, who was not pleased with the way Rufai spoke to him, claimed that the interviewer was disrespectful.

“Please, don’t raise your voice at me, young man. Don’t raise your voice at me Rufai. I’m your guest, you will respect me. I will walk out of your studio if you raise your voice at me. Talk to me respectfully.” Onokpasa said while pointing fingers at the screen.

Oseni in his response said, “You may well take your decision if you want to. I’m asking a question. You might decide to walk out if you want to.”

Onokpasa refused to answer the question asked by Oseni, and the duo kept talking at the same time, not minding Dr Reuben Abati who was trying to intervene in the matter.

Yul Edochie condemned the journalist for slamming Tinubu supporter as he added that Tinubu should be given enough time before receiving condemnation.

“Is this not the Rufai Oseni that drove through a BRT route and after he was stopped by the police, he threatened them with his identity and connections? Give Tinubu enough time to prove himself as Nigerian president”.

Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has undergone five surgeries which were all successful.

Recall that the actor while celebrating his 63rd birthday from the hospital bed, appealed to Nigerians to come to his aid in settling his medical bills.

Mr Ibu, while appealing for public assistance, stated that he was battling an ailment that may cost him his leg.

In a recent update in a statement shared via his Instagram page, the comic actor said he had undergone five surgeries which were all successful.

He, however, stated that he is still recovering in the ICU, and is waiting to get stabilized so he can fly abroad for further advanced treatment.

Mr Ibu appreciated the general public for their donations as he added that he is counting on them for their prayers and unwavering support.

The statement partly read, “So far, Daddy has gone through 5 successful surgeries, and he is still recovering in the ICU. Daddy is immensely grateful and we are thankful to the general public during this phase of our lives. We appreciate all the donations made to this account, and as soon as Daddy is better he will personally acknowledge all donations respectively!

“We are still counting on all your prayers and unwavering support as we pray he gets stabilized quickly to enable us to fly him abroad for further advanced treatment… The John Okafor family is grateful to all Nigerians.”
