A man was charged and remanded in prison over alleged trespass after he entered a house i  Lagos and tried to stop a man from beating his wife. 

 

A Twitter user, Barbara, who disclosed this on Tuesday, February 23, said that the incident happened at Parkview Estate in Ikoyi area of Lagos.

 

\”A friend\’s brother has been in jail since early February and charged to court for \”trespassing\”. His offense? Trying to stop a man from beating his wife. Now the bail has been set at N150K that he can\’t afford with a hard to meet surety requirement. Any legal help will be appreciated\”

 

In an update, Barbara said the man has been released on bail and the next court hearing is scheduled for March 15. 

 

\”Update: He\’s been released on bail, next hearing is on the 15th of march.We do not know who cleared the bill or if it was paid for. The information we have now is that he\’s been released, he called.  Trying to get all charges dropped next.  Thank you all for the help so far.\”
