Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku has called for help from her fans ahead of the 2023 AFCON final.

On Wednesday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a victory over South Africa in the semi-final, winning 4-2 in a penalty shootout. As a result, they will face off against host, Cote D’Ivoire, who defeated DR Congo 1-0.

The two teams are scheduled to compete for the crown on Sunday, February 11th.

Ahead of the match on Sunday, Mary is seeking assistance on where to find Asoebi for her family. She also inquired about where to purchase authentic jerseys, expressing her desire to support the Super Eagles.

She wrote;

“I haven’t gotten our Asoebi for the AFCON final on Sunday. Where can I buy some? For the whole Njoku clan, please.

“Original Jersies oh! We need to support our boys. Please tag a vendor. Good jerseys abeg.”

State government orders restriction of movement

The Oyo State Government has announced a restriction on movement throughout the state to facilitate the smooth conduct of Saturday’s local government elections.

The movement will be restricted from 8 am to 3 pm, during which elections for councillorship and chairmanship positions will take place in all 33 local government areas of the state.

This measure, endorsed by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), is intended to ensure the elections are free from disruptions and to enhance the safety and effectiveness of the electoral process.

In an update on its verified ‘x’ handle on Friday evening, it said, “Please note this important announcement regarding movement restrictions in Oyo State on Saturday 27, April 2024

“The Oyo State Government has declared total restriction of movement tomorrow, Saturday, 27th of April 2024, the restriction will be in place from 0600 hours to 1600 hours.

APC chieftain slumps, dies in church

A top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chief Obinna Atuonwu has passed away.

He died on Sunday, 21st April, 2024 during a church service at the age of 65.

According to ABNTV, the late Atuonwu had attended a church service in Aba; the commercial capital of the state and was addressing the congregation when he collapsed.

Narrating how the incident happened, the only brother of the deceased, Dr. Chiedozie Atuonu said that on that fateful day, he got a call to rush to Aba from Umuahia where he was.

According to him, the caller told him that his late brother was feeling critically ill and needed urgent medical attention.

According to him, upon arrival, he discovered that his brother’s condition was critical and he was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
