Being a transgender in Africa is very dangerous. There’s no legislature to protect this forbidden sexual orientation.

That nothwithstanding, some few indviudals who uindentify themselves as transgenders have defied all odds to make their identity known.

1. Miss Sahhara

According to Wikipedia: Miss Sahara is a British Nigerian beauty queen, fashion model, singer/songwriter, and a human rights advocate. She is known for representing Nigeria in international beauty pageants to draw attention to the plights of LGBTQI+ people in Africa.[8] In 2011, she became the first Nigerian trans woman to come out publicly on international press during the Miss International Queen beauty pageant in Pattaya, On 19 July 2014, she was crowned the first ever Super Sireyna Worldwide in Manila, Philippines. Making her the first black trans woman to be crowned winner in an international beauty competition.

2. Bobrisky

Now, who doesn’t know Bobrisky. The former corssderesser cum transgender is the most conspicuous and most confident of all the transgenders who make up this list. Although many has doubted the true state of his seuxalty, Bobrisky insist she’s a transgenrder who has everything a woman has.

In December, the social media sensation informed her fans that she has finally undergone surgery to remove her manhood in place of a woman’s version to complete her transition.

3. Stephanie Adaralegbe aka Stephanie Rose

Stephanie Rose, formerly Dapo Adaralegbe is the Son of a Professor at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and former student of the same university. Dapo reportedly dropped out from the Obafemi Awolowo University over mounting pressures from the school authorities over his conflicting sexual identity. He later moved to Netherland where he underwent surgery to become a woman and live her dreams.

4. Mandy la Candy

Apparently, it was Miss saHHara’s whose bravado to come out as a transgender inspired Mandy la Candy. Knowing very well the volatality of the Nigerian enevironemnt, Mandy left for an unknown Eropen country.

5. Noni Salma

Noni Salma. She was born and raised in Lagos. Noni attended the University of Lagos, where she received a degree in Theatre Arts. After she was bullied a lot of time for being a transgender, she left Nigeria for the United States.
