According to Colorado police, a driver who was pulled over for speeding attempted to switch places with his dog in order to avoid arrest.
The incident happened in Springfield, Colorado, where an officer observed the driver manoeuvring inside the car before exiting from the passenger side.

When questioned, the man, who showed clear signs of intoxication, claimed he was not the one driving, and pointed to his dog that was in the car. However, when asked about his alcohol consumption, he ran from the officer but was caught within a distance of approximately 20 yards (18 meters).

Following a hospital examination, the man was arrested on various charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and outstanding warrants for his arrest.
