Founder of African Leadership Forum and Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, will today, give the keynote address at the 2022 Nigeria Prizes for Literature, Science and Literary Criticism Grand Award Night sponsored by Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG).

The event is scheduled to hold from 5: 00pm at the Zinnia & Jasmine Halls of Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos. The yearly prizes were established to recognise and reward excellent works in literature and science. These prizes, which are awarded to deserving Nigerians, have earned worldwide recognition as Africa’s most prestigious literary and science prizes.   They are clear demonstrations of NLNG’s commitment to its vision, of being a globally competitive LNG company helping to build a better Nigeria.

The 2022 edition of the literature prize celebrates excellence in poetry, and that of the science prize focuses on innovative solutions in food security.

Chair of the Prize’s Advisory Board, Prof. Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo, received a total of 287 entries early in the year to flag off the 2022 event. This number was reduced to three, who are now vying for the $100,000 at stake.

To battle for the literature prize are Memory and the Call of Water by Su’eddie Vershima Agema; Nomad by Romeo Oriogun and Your Crib, My Qibla by Saddiq Dzukogi.
