Pope Francis To Undergo Hernia Operation Today

Pope Francis will undergo an operation for an abdominal hernia on Wednesday at a Rome hospital, where he is expected to stay for “several days”, the Vatican said.

The 86-year-old pope, who underwent colon surgery in 2021, is suffering from a hernia which is “causing recurrent, painful and worsening” symptoms, Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement.

It followed a brief visit by the pope to the Gemelli hospital in Rome on Tuesday, during which the Vatican said he underwent “clinical tests”.

Francis led his weekly general audience as usual Wednesday, before preparing to head to the Gemelli.

“In the early afternoon he will undergo a laparotomy and abdominal wall surgery… under general anaesthesia,” Bruni said.

A laparotomy is a surgical incision into the abdominal cavity.

“The stay at the health facility will last several days to allow the normal post-operative course and full functional recovery,” the Vatican said.

Francis, who has been the leader of the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics for a decade, has suffered increasing health issues over the past year.

Sex

In relationships or marriages, sex is one of the common features that both parties may argue about. This might be because one partner is not getting as enough satisfaction as they should while the other partner may not have the capacity to meet their partner’s expectations.

Money

Money is one of the causes of couples’ arguments in relationships. Usually, this happens when there is no structure in the relationship on how finances should be handled.

Umahi Flags Off Demolition Of Landmark Beach For Coastal Highway Project – Lifestyle Nigeria

The Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi, on Saturday in Lagos, flagged off the demolition of a section of the Landmark Beach, the Mami Chula Beach Lifestyle, to give way to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

Umahi began the demolition after he inspected kilometres 13, 16 and 20 to ensure the most economical and viable way to access the coastal roads without much damage.

He noted that the demolition was necessary since the landmark centre was located on Federal Government’s Right-of-way.

He stressed that a number of structures would be affected by the demolition, adding that compensation would be provided.

Umahi said, “So with the utmost fear of God, gratitude to God Almighty and the commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in our infrastructural development agenda in particular, I wish to flag off this demolition.

”It’s in a right-of-way within the coastal corridor which is legitimate right of way of the Federal Government.

“Before the flag off of the demolition of landmark, I graciously increased the grace period by another seven days and yet another four days and here we are because the project stopped because of lack of demolition.

“And I want to commend the likes of Bolaji, incidentally from kilometre zero to four from what I’m seeing, he is the only one that is majorly affected. That’s the only infrastructure I can see that is affected.”
