Security operatives rescue 30 out of 40 worshippers abducted during midnight prayer in Katsina

\"Update:

The Katsina State Police Command said 30 out of 40 worshipers who were abducted by bandits at a mosque have been rescued.  

 

LIB reported that gunmen stormed the mosque at Kwata area of Jibiya Local Government Area in the early hours of today and abducted the worshippers while they were observing Tahajjud (midnight prayer) 

 

Spokesperson of the command, SP Isah Gambo, who confirmed the development, said the worshippers were rescued by a combined team of Nigerian police, military and local vigilante.

Tinubu Makes Two New Appointments – Lifestyle Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr Innocent Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA).

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

The President also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA).

Barikor is an academic, politician and a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa.

He said that the President expected that the new heads of these important agencies to discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation.

Ngelale also stated that the President called on the new appointees to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.

BREAKING: Oyo To Restricts Movement On Saturday 

 

Lifestyle Nigeria gathered that Movement would be restricted for the duration of Saturday’s local government election in Oyo State, the State Government announced on Friday evening.

The restriction will help officials of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) to conduct the poll without hindrance.

Election would hold into councillorship and chairmanship positions in the 33 local government areas of the State between 8 am and 3 pm.

In an update on its verified ‘x’ handle on Friday evening, it said: “Please note this important announcement regarding movement restrictions in Oyo State on Saturday 27, April 2024

“The Oyo State Government has declared total restriction of movement tomorrow, Saturday, 27th of April 2024, the restriction will be in place from 0600 hours to 1600 hours.

“Only providers of essential services are exempted from these restrictions.”
