Senate Steps In as National Assembly Workers Continue Strike

Latest entertainment gist

The Senate has suggested meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other labour unions over the ongoing nationwide strike.

The Upper Chamber suggested this earlier today at the plenary while considering the strike as an issue of utmost importance.

The Senate also requested the labour unions to stop the strike and not shut down the country and its economy because of one person.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, had earlier apologised to his colleagues on behalf of Nigerian workers for the inconveniences constituted to free movement in and out of the National Assembly following the barricade of the gates by members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria who are observing the strike at the complex.

He, however, thanked the chamber staff members for being able to enter the complex to prepare the chamber for plenary.

No more big 3 – Rema Blasts Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy

Latest entertainment gist

Popular ace Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor aka Rema has seemingly challenged his senior colleagues Davido, Wizkid and Burna boy.

Rema took to his X page to share his sentiment on the generally established position of the top three artistes out of Nigeria.

He however said there was no big 3 anymore as they’re commonly called, rather a big 4 which presumably includes himself following some strides of his own.

While fans and followers debated his intentions, Rema seemed to clarify as he said Afrobeat was better than everything else.

This plays into a recent abandonment of the genre by main acts like Davido, Fireboy, Wizkid and so many more.

Rema is however known for his advocacy that Afrobeat remains supreme rather than the new sub genres other artistes are attempting to create.
