Glamsquad reports that Shania Twain has released a documentary in which she discusses her husband’s devastating affair with her best friend.

The singer opened up in the documentary, which will air on Netflix.
Shania stated that learning her ex-husband Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange had an affair with her personal assistant who was also her best friend in 2008 was especially difficult for her because she had been a role model to females all over the world because of the powerful lyrics of her song.

In the trailer for her new documentary, the 56-year-old compared the experience to “losing her parents.”
Shania reflected on the betrayal, saying she felt at the time that she “had lost her voice forever.”
Shania discovered Robert’s infidelity and affair with her then-personal assistant, best friend, and “confidante,” Marie-Anne Thiébaud.
Shania previously told Oprah Winfrey about the situation: “I said, ‘Marie-Anne, don’t you think my husband is acting strange?”
“And she replied, ‘No, I don’t see anything unusual.\’”
After 14 years of marriage, Robert, who shares son Eja with Shania, ended their relationship without explanation.

Her friend Marie-Anne, too, never told her the truth.
Marie-then-husband Anne’s Frédéric Thiébaud, who had discovered the infidelity himself, informed the singer.
On the Oprah Winfrey Show, he explained how he broke the news: “‘Guys, now you have to tell her,’ I said. This is completely absurd. You owe it to her.\’”
Frédéric decided to contact Shania after Robert and Marie-Anne refused to confess to her.
Shania and Frédéric became friends because they had experienced similar heartbreak. They became close, began a romantic relationship, and married a few years later.

On the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Shania said of their newfound love, “We were a support to each other and really found something beautiful in the end and unexpected.”
