\”They\’re being treated unfairly\’ – Trump says he would pardon January 6 Capitol rioters that have been jailed if he\’s re-elected

\"

Former US president, Donald Trump has claimed his supporters who were jailed for the January 6, 2021 capitol hill insurrection were being treated \’unfairly\’ and would be pardoned from serving jail time of he wins election in 2024.

Trump while teasing a potential 2024 presidential bid during a campaign-style rally in Texas on Saturday evening, January 29, claimed that his supporters who broke into the Capitol last year are being treated ‘unfairly’ by President Joe Biden.

‘If I run, and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly. We will treat them fairly,’ he said to enthusiastic applause.

‘If that requires pardons, we will give them pardons, because they are being treated so unfairly.’.

He also took aim at the Democrat-led House committee investigating the riot before turning his anger back to how the detainees are being treated.

‘This hasn’t happened to all of the other atrocities that took place recently, what that un-select committee is doing and what the people are doing who are running those prisons — it’s a disgrace,’ Trump said.

’We will treat them fairly and we will take care of the people of this country.’

Over the last 12 months, the Department Of Justice has charged hundreds of people in connection with the insurrection.

Trump’s allies in Congress like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida have alleged that the rioters have suffered poor treatment and have referred to them as ‘political prisoners.’

Trump made money from his Conroe rally, hosting a $100,000 per couple lunch and a second fundraiser on Saturday before he took the stage.

The businessman charged couples $100,000 to join him and Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick for lunch in Houston, at an undisclosed location.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, yesterday said President Muhammadu Buhari did not interfere with the recent governorship election imbroglio in Adamawa State as it is strictly the responsibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission to sort out the matter

According to him, it is not in Buhari’s character to micromanage government’s institutions.

Fielding questions from reporters after the FEC meeting, Mohammed said: “I don’t think that this government has ever intervened in the way the Independent National Electoral Commission conducts its elections.

“So, there’s no need for us to intervene. It was an entirely an INEC matter and INEC handled it.

“The chairman of INEC is in charge of all employees in INEC and he’s handling it. So, what do you want the government to do?”

Mohammed justified the reason he accused the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, of committing treason, saying that if his running mate had called for insurrection and he did not react, he was guilty as charged.

The minister said he went to the United States to balance what he called the skewed reports on the 2023 general elections, which he said was “the most transparent, freest and authentic ever held despite the effort of the opposition to delegitimize or discourage the election.”

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, when asked a question on the government’s directive that the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service proceed on retirement, said: “It is Greek to me.”

APC Expels Ex-Governor From Party – Lifestyle Nigeria

The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday expelled the former Governor of the state, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje from the party over alleged anti-party activities.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday after a press conference by the APC ward chairman, Tanimu Abdullahi in Kashere area of the state.

Abdullahi stated that the party took a unanimous decision to expel Goje after finding him guilty of anti-party activities.

“The activities include his failure to attend the Gombe State APC rally presided over by the national chairman Abdullahi Adamu, failure to attend the presidential campaign rally in Gombe State which was attended by the president and vice president-elect,” he said.

The ex-governor was also accused of boycotting all campaign tours of the party in his senatorial zone, Akko federal constituency, state assembly and ward units.

Other offences allegedly committed by Goje include: “making pronouncements that undermine the APC administration in the state and sponsoring a campaign of calumny with the intention of inciting the public against the APC administration in the state.”

According to the ward chairman, Goje gave clear directives to his associates and proteges to work against the interest of the APC in Gombe State by ensuring only him (Goje) is elected on the APC platform while working towards the defeat of other APC candidates at all levels.

He said, “The committee also deliberated on the allegations against Goje of hobnobbing with opposition parties and their candidates with the intent to undermine the success of the APC in Gombe State and Nigeria in general; open support to opposition party candidates by hosting the NNPP gubernatorial candidate and the PDP federal house of representatives candidate in his residence and offered support against the interest of his party, the APC among many other instances.

“Therefore, the executive council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kashere Ward has decided to expel Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje from the party for his numerous anti-party activities that are in breach of Article 21, Section A, subsection ii, iii, vi and vii of the APC constitution.”

I Am Unaware – Hakimi’s Mother Reacts To Son’s Transfer Of Wealth To Her

Lifestyle Nigeria gathered that Saida Mouh, the mother of PSG defender Achraf Hakimi, has finally reacted to the news of her son transferring all his assets to her.

Recall that news broke on social media last week that Hakimi dribbled his ex-wife, Hiba Abouk, in their divorce process by putting all his fortune in his mother’s name to deny the mother of his two kids a juicy divorce settlement.

Reacting to the news, Mrs Saida Mouh suggested that there was nothing wrong even if the news of her son transferring all his properties to her was true.

According to her, 24-year-old Hakimi wouldn’t be able to get rid of his 36-year-old wife if he didn’t take drastic steps.

“If he has taken any action to protect himself, I’m unaware of it,” Morocco World News quoted Hakimi’s mother as saying.

“What’s the problem if the news is true? If my son does not do this, he will not be able to get rid of that woman [Hiba Abouk]
