Thuso Mbedu was born on the 8th of July 1991.Ā Thuso Nokwanda MbeduĀ was born and raised in Pelham, a borough of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.Ā \"\"

Her mother passed onĀ due to a brain tumour when she was 4 years old. She was raised by her grandmother as her mother had separated with her father before she was born.

Thuso went to Pelham Primary School and attended Pietermaritzburg Girls High School. When Mbedu was eighteen, she attended the University of Witwatersrand, where she studied Physical Theatre and Performing Arts Management, resulting her graduating with an honours.Ā \"\"
In 2012, she attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, USA.Ā Thuso landed a role on Isibaya in 2013. In late 2014 she had a small role in the second season of the Mzansi Magic soapieĀ isiBaya, before landing her role as journalism student and wild child Kitso onĀ Scandal!.
