1. Tech Savvy

Being tech-savvy will be an advantage to get hired. These days organisations face heavy competition and recession. So they require candidates who can bring innovative ideas or develop products or services which help the organisation to grow vertically. They can also train others to work for the common goal.

2. Agility

This isn’t talking about your ability to physically jump through hoops or walk balance beams; metaphorically, a company wants to see if you can adapt when necessary, recognize shifting dynamics, and possess intercultural skills that help you find common ground and collaborate with your colleagues.

3. Flexibility

Employers would be happy to hire candidates who are flexible enough to accept the process changes or upcoming norms of the organisation. It also assures the employer that they can take up any opportunity irrespective of their role or position in the organisation.

Personal traits are more with handling work and dealing with people. So this is also one of the traits that are being examined in interview.

In some fields, a job is changing and evolving day by day. Employers want to hire adaptable professionals who can change with it. This may mean someone who can follow directions one day and figure out his or her direction the next. Or perhaps someone who can spend some days behind desk and other days in the field, equally productive in both environments.

Resilient applicants are amongst the most sought after by hiring companies. Employers do not want to hire people who require handholding or constant praise to feel appreciated. They are looking for employees who can motivate themselves, figure out what needs to be done and then do it. Everyone appreciates a pat on the back from time to time, but it shouldn’t be required to do your job well.

They can work effectively in situations that require the cooperation of others, clearly, fit into the confines of the firm’s corporate culture and bring a dynamic to meetings that welcome debate and, ultimately, solve problems.

Employers are looking for those who can collaborate well with others, not behave like divas.

7. Passionate

Although all employees are driven by monetary gain, the most sought after people are the ones who enjoy the work as much as they do the reward. Without passion, employees will utilise only a fraction of their intelligence, achieve only a percentage of what they can and will inevitably burn-out. Moreover, they will fail to positively impact both their lives and the lives of their co-workers, clients, managers as well as the firm’s leadership team.

Very few job postings will list a “sense of humor” as a qualification, but equally few office environments can do without enthusiastic, entertaining employees. Effective communication is fundamental in any business. The most preferred skills for any employer are communication skills and communication skills are all about being clear, focused, comprehensible and paying attention to other views.

11. Body Language

Body language demonstrates your inner personality to others. When we say Body Language we are referring to Body Posture, Handshake, Eye contact etcetera.

From an interviewer’s point of view, body language helps in judging an interviewee’s personality and confidence. Research reveals that 75% of all communication takes place non-verbally. Our gestures, therefore, play an elementary role in an interview.

12. Leadership Skills

13. Independent Thinker

Many times people will follow all the rules and regulations of the company. It is a good thing and surely the employer will remain happy towards them. But sharing your thoughts in the company is also a great way to show your value. Many employers want to employ people who can say what is right for the company.

The ability to think independently and make a decision as well as take responsibility for the outcome is always essential for the company. A company requires this kind of people and it will also lead towards leadership and management post.

14. Honesty

Once a liar, always a liar, or at least in the eyes of potential employers. It almost goes without saying, but if an employer discovers an “inaccuracy” or “exaggeration” in your resume (perhaps while conducting a reference check), you will quickly find yourself resuming your job search.

15. Disciplined

The basic expectation from a candidate is discipline. An indisciplined person does not adhere to the company rules and regulations. In other words, not being responsible at a workplace.
