The CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey has announced that the Micro-blogging platform will be opening its African headquarters in Ghana. The CEO of the social media app made the announcement via his official Twitter handle today.

In a blog post shared on the platform, the social media app explained that it was on a journey to provide more relevant experiences for people across the world so it felt the need to be more immersed in the rich and vibrant communities that drive the conversations taking place every day across the African continent.  It also announced job opening opportunities for people in the country and asked them to apply to be a part of its global workforce.

It explained that it chose Ghana as its African headquarters because Ghana is a supporter of free speech, online freedom, and the Open Internet, of which Twitter is also an advocate. The president of Ghana Nana Akufo- Addo on Twitter applauded the micro-blogging platform for the move and said it was the beginning of a beautiful partnership.
