UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin warns that players involved in the European Super League could be banned from playing champions league & the World Cup

UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin has stated that clubs and players involved in the proposed breakaway European Super League could be banned \’as soon as possible\’ from all of its competitions and the World Cup.

Addressing an emergency meeting on Monday, April 19, after 12 of Europe\’s top clubs announced the European super league the European Super League, Ceferin launched a scathing attack on the plan, which could change the game of football forever.

Ceferin has now refused to rule out that players could be banned from the Euros. When asked about when the ban would begin, he said: \’I do not know when.\’ 

 

 \’We\’re still assessing with our legal team but we will take all the sanctions that we can and we will inform you as soon we can,\’ he said. 

\’My opinion is that as soon as possible they have to be banned from all our competitions and the players from all our competitions.\’

Ceferin then described the  European Super League as a \’spit in the face\’ for football and society. He then tagged Man United chairman Ed Woodward and former European Club Association chairman Andrea Agnelli (Juventus president) as \’the biggest disappointment\’, accusing the latter of lying to UEFA over the plans for a Super League.

Roseline boiling tomatoes – .

A Nigerian lady simply identified as Roseline has reportedly died due to severe burns after she was pushed into a big pot of boiling grounded fresh pepper and tomatoes by her friends in Delta State.

Activist, Comrade Israel Joe, who confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on Friday, said Roseline died last Friday after two weeks of fighting for her life in a hospital in Warri.

According to Joe, before Roseline passed away, she revealed that her friends were ‘beefing’ her but she still travelled with them for a catering job in Sapele where the incident happened. 

The activist is demanding justice for the deceased, vowing to bring the perpetrators to book.

“RIP, dear Rozzy. She was pushed into a big boiling pot of grinded fresh pepper and tomatoes by her friend on Saturday, 13th April. She battled for about two weeks with her roasted/boiled body and finally died last week Friday 26th April,” he wrote. 

“Rozzy was buried four days ago, but we can’t just allow things to slide as though nothing happened. What an evíI friendship like those I once had.”

The activist further disclosed that nobody in the neighbourhood in Otokutu knew Roseline had been allegedly kíIIed by these same friends she was living with. She was buried with no one to bid her goodbye and with no single bųríaI poster to honour her. Just two days in the morgue, the mortuary attendants demanded she be carried away to bury.

“According to Rozzy, her friends were beefing her, but she still decided to travel with them for a catering job in Sapele where they were speaking their local language with this Yoruba girl, Rozzy, not understanding their conversation.

SEC Chief To Meet Crypto Exchanges Over Regulation

Dr Emomotimi Agama, the newly appointed Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission, will meet with the local and international crypto exchanges on Monday to discuss and seek consensus on the status of crypto in the country.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that the meeting convened by the Blockchain Industry Coordinating Committee of Nigeria would address relevant issues and chart a progressive course for crypto regulations.

According to BICCoN chair, Lucky Uwakwe, who spoke with Cointelegraph on Thursday, the meeting is open to all digital assets exchange operators, wallet providers, other virtual asset service providers (VASPs), and relevant industry associations and bodies to address relevant issues and chart a progressive course for crypto regulations in Nigeria.

Uwakwe explained that the virtual meeting is being convened at the invitation of the SEC chief.

He noted that Agama aimed to engage with key stakeholders in the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem to address regulatory challenges and opportunities through collaborative dialogue.

The associations include the Blockchain Nigeria User Group (BNUG), the Cryptographic Development Initiative in Nigeria (CDIN), the Digital Currency Consortium (DCC) and the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN).

Uwakwe expressed hope that the meeting could spark the right kind of change that would favour all crypto stakeholders in Nigeria and internationally.

“Everyone’s presence and insights are invaluable as we collectively navigate the regulatory terrain and strive toward fostering an environment conducive to innovation and growth within the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector,” he said.

Why Akpabio Wants More Media Focus On Climate Reporting – Lifestyle Nigeria

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obong Akpabio, CON, has charged Nigerian media practitioners to accord special attention to reporting climate change issues.

Akpabio’s advice was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh to commemorate this year’s World Press Freedom Day.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s celebration, “A Press for the Planet: Journalism in the Face of the Environmental Crisis”, Akpabio charged the media to make conscious efforts in setting a climate change agenda and engage in aggressive education of the people about the environment and the negative effects of climate change.

“The theme for this year’s World Press Freedom Day is in sync with the global attention accorded to issues of environment and as the conscience of the society, it behooves the media to be deliberate in their reportage of climate issues.

“Environment and climate are life and we must be part of the conservation of the environment for humanity to thrive before we talk about politics and related issues”.

The Senate President noted that the world was faced with the issue of global warming, which Nigeria is also not immune from, adding that, the media could do a more in public enlightenment and education for the understanding of every citizen.

Akpabio, however, celebrated the Nigerian journalists for their sacrifices despite working under inclement conditions promising that the 10th National Assembly will always stand for a free press in the country.

“On behalf of the Senate and the National Assembly, I wish to congratulate all media practitioners, especially those who have put their lives on the line in pursuit of truth and justice.
