Lagosians Call out APC using Lebanese To campaign .

A viral Update of Lebanese men wearing APC caps and sharing indomie for Nigerians has caused mixed reactions among Lagosians. Several claims are being made that the Lebanese people already own 80 percent of the land and that the APC was using the Lebanese men to campaign.

Not surprisingly, the tribal sentiments that are shapping the elections in Lagos State were also being brought to bear on the issue as the debate as to who really owns Lagos was again reignited.

Some argued that there is an agenda of Ndi igbo overruning Lagos using Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes who is partyly Igbo. However, others argued that if foreigners including Lebanese can be used by the APC to campaign then no one could then fault the legitimate right of the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as an indigene of Lagos state.

. gathered reactions to the development on Twitter.

Aigbedion Joseph @AigbedionJoseph

This people don’t know Lebanese hate Black’s. I won’t be surprised, if dey buy the whole of Lagos 20 years from now.

Malachy Odo II @MalachyOdo1

There’s no way these white guys would leave there without having the impression that they just dealt with animals.

The consigliere@Connoisseur_Geo

This is why I don’t consider your nonsense about being intelligent and reading books and advocating for a better world as serious as your bigotry. “Igbos are coming to take over Lagos.” But na Lebanese dey share election indomie to you.  Imagine being a slave to a Lebanese?

MONEY COMES TO ME EASILY ?@rachelwithlove_

APC has reduced Nigeria’s worth to nothing!! Why now!!  Na Lebanese people dy feed una for una country!!!! With indomie????

Adedayo @thedayorichards

Lebanese weaponizing poverty but Gbadebo who can trace his lineage back 3 generations of core Lagosian, cannot contest for governor seat.

cokê. @coke_C17H21NO4

I don’t know who needs to hear this..but it’s better you deal with your fellow Nigerians trying to buy or steal your land .. whatever y’all call it. If this Lebanese people take over .. Na white vs black oooo

Céle @celestine_JB

Those guys would allow a Lebanese to govern lagos state instead of a  yoruba man whose mother is igbo.

Court Orders INEC To Transmit Results Electronically

Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to electronically transmit Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly election results in accordance with its regulations and guidelines.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that Justice Obiora Egwuatu in a judgment on Friday, also ordered the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System to upload a scanned copy of the form EC8A to the INEC Result Viewing Portal immediately after the completion of all the polling unit voting in Akwa Ibom.

Egwuatu gave the judgment following a suit filed by the Labour Party and its governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Uduakobong Udoh, including 13 state House of Assembly candidates for the March 18 elections.

The judge further directed the commission to conspicuously paste the publication of its result posters EC60(E) at polling units after completing the EC8A result sheets in the state.

He equally ordered INEC to enforce the observance and compliance of Section 27(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022 in the distribution of electoral materials during the conduct of the polls in the state by engaging the services of independent, competent, and reliable logistic companies who are non-partisans or known supporters of any political party for the distribution of electoral materials and personnel.

The applicants, in the originating summons marked FHC/ABJ/CS/334/2023, dated and filed on March 15 by their lawyer, Moses Usoh-Abia, had sued INEC as the sole defendant.

The Electoral Commission was however, not represented in court.

Delivering judgment, Justice Egwuatu said he was satisfied that the applicants had complied with the practice direction rules in the filing of their application.

He also said that he was satisfied that a cause of action had been established against INEC in the paragraphs of the applicants’ process.

The judge, therefore, ordered INEC to direct all its presiding officers to comply with Clauses 37 which mandated it’s agents to comply with and enforce the provision of Clause 37 of the Regulations and Guidelines for the Conduct of the Saturday’s elections and Clause 38 which mandated the presiding officers of all polling units in the state to electronically transmit or transfer the result of the polling units, direct to the collation system and use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System to upload a scanned copy of the EC8A to INEC Result Viewing Portal immediately after the completion of all the polling units voting and result procedures.

He held that the commission had the legal duty to act in accordance with the law.

Ebonyi LP Endorses APC Governorship Candidate

Latest Politics updatein nigeria

Labour Party, LP, Ebonyi State Chapter has endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of the state, Francis Nwifuru.

In a statement made available to Lifestyle Nigeria, the LP’s State Executive Council said the decision was after consultations with the National Leadership of the Party.

The statement read, “the general public, members of the Labour Party, and the entire Obidient family in Ebonyi State should take note that the Labour Party does not have a gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 Ebonyi State Governorship election owing to protracted legal tussles.

“That consequent upon the foregoing, the State Executive Council of the Labour Party resolved with the stakeholders to adaption of Hon. Francis Ogbonne Nwifuru of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as our preferred candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.”

LP, however, noted that “the above decision does not in any way or manner translate to collapsing of the party’s structure into APC, as Labour Party remains Independent and still operates as a distinct Political Party, save for the alliance in respect to gubernatorial candidate only.”

It added that LP’s House of Assembly candidates in the various State Constituencies remain the Labour Party candidates and should be given maximum support to that effect.

The statement read further, “The Party remains passionately committed to reclaiming our mandates in the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on the 25th of March 2023.

“That our decision to adopt Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was not only based on his
credibility, capacity, competence, and experience but also on the principle of equity, justice, and fairness for which the Labour Party is known.

“That the State Executive Council of the Labour Party appreciates the resilience of our Party faithful so far and urges them to go out en mass come 18 March 2023 and vote for Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as our adopted gubernatorial candidate as well our Labour Party State House of Assembly Candidates.”
