Now, attention has turned to Arne Slot, who reportedly sits “at the forefront” of Liverpool’s managerial search. Talks between the club and the 45-year-old Dutchman have purportedly commenced, with Liverpool potentially having to fork out £9 million in compensation to secure his services.

Slot boasts an impressive resume, having clinched the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup during his tenure at Feyenoord. Known for his aggressive, front-foot approach to football, he has also garnered praise for his ability to nurture young talent.

One such player is Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, who flourished under Slot’s guidance during a loan spell at Feyenoord in the 2020/21 season.
