William Ruto Extends ‘Hand Of Brotherhood’ To Rivals After Supreme

Kenya’s president-elect, William Ruto has extended “a hand of brotherhood” to his rivals after the Supreme Court upheld his victory in the August 9 presidential poll.

Lifestyle Nigeria reports that Ruto’s victory was challenged by his rival, Raila Odinga.

Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday, dismissed the suit filed by Odinga and others and subsequently upheld the election of Ruto as the president-elect Kenya.

Speaking shortly after the court verdict, Ruto said: “I extend a hand of brotherhood to all my competitors and to all their supporters. We are not enemies, we are Kenyans.”

Ruto struck a conciliatory tone, assuring that his government would work “to make Kenya a country for everyone.”

“Our election and judicial institutions have won,” he said.
