The Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has said that Nigerian musician, Ayo Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, brought laughter and joy to his home when he visited him.

The Eagle Online recalls that MC Oluomo shared the Update of Wizkid’s visit on Instagram on Monday.

The visit captured moments the popular Afrobeat star spent in the home of the All Progressives Congress chieftain in Lagos State.

MC Oluomo said: “Today, the illustrious music icon, Ayo Balogun, more commonly known as Wizkid, paid me an unexpected visit, brightening my day with his captivating charm and humble nature.

“As a pillar of the Nigerian music industry, his presence radiated an unmatchable blend of raw talent and humility.

“Our dynamic conversation was a testament to his magnetic personality, leaving a lasting impression.

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has chastised her colleagues for downplaying the Afrobeats genre.

She stated that while it is not incorrect for artists to denounce Afrobeats, especially if they believe it does not define their art, downplaying the genre is hypocritical, as it has contributed to the development of every Nigerian artist.

On her X account, the ‘Johnny’ singer wrote: “I don’t see anything wrong with informing your listeners about the genre of music an artist creates, especially if you believe it doesn’t define your art.”

“Please announce your genre in peace. It is hypocritical to downplay the importance Afrobeats has played in the growth of every artist.

Alade’s social media outburst is coming against the backdrop of some Nigerian singers including Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy denouncing the Afrobeats genre.

Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, aka Nasboi, a popular skit creator and musician, has criticised Wizkid for disparaging ace music mogul Don Jazzy.
