Wizkid spreads Christmas joy, visits Surulere and Makoko to distribute ₦100 Million to Kids (Update) – Lifestyle Nigeria

Grammy-award-winning singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid has spread the joy of Christmas as he visits Surulere and Makoko areas of Lagos TO FULFILL HIS PLEDGE.

On Monday, December 11, Wizkid pledged to donate 100 million naira to children in various parts of the country for Christmas via his Instagram story. He noted that he wants to honour his late mother, Mr Juliana Morayo Balogun who died on August 18, 2023.

 “100M for the kids for Christmas! Lord bless us all start in Surulere tonight! All in Morayo’s name! The love of my life!”

Although the singer did not provide details on how the money would be distributed, Wizkid was spotted with his bodyguards at different locations in Surulere and the Makoko area of Lagos State.

Nigerian singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro has expressed fear for the next generation of parents.

On his Instagram page, he shared a long post about how his mother’s prayers changed him and shaped him into the person he is today. He remembered a time when his mother visited him in boarding school and was moved to tears seeing him struggling. Instead of losing hope in him, she consistently spoke positive words, affirming his greatness.

He shared that as he grew up, life became increasingly difficult, but his mother never ceased speaking positive words and praying for him.

Advising his fans not to overlook the influence of a praying mother, he expressed concern about the prayer life of the new generation of parents. He emphasized how challenges do not discriminate based on appearance or attitude, whether one is a “bad bitch,” a Gen Z “baddie,” or a “big boy.”

EFCC releases full list of 58 ex governors that embezzled N2.187 trillion

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has alleged that at least 58 former governors are  involved in the misappropriation, embezzlement, or laundering of approximately N2.187 trillion over a span of 25 years.

This amount does not include properties seized worldwide or those currently being investigated, which amount to billions of Naira.

The amount of N2.2 trillion that was looted is similar to the combined budgets of Lagos State and the South-East states for 2024, totaling N2.25 trillion and N2.29 trillion respectively. This figure exceeds the budgets of the North-Central states and North-East states for 2024, which are N1.89 trillion and N1.60 trillion, by several billion.

The EFCC is currently investigating, probing, and prosecuting 58 ex-governors from various regions of the country. Since the restoration of civilian government on May 29, 1999, there have been at least 170 governors serving in the 36 states of Nigeria.

Nigerians express concern over President Tinubu’s whereabouts

The World Economic Forum Special Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ended on Monday.

The meeting was attended by world leaders leaders, including President Bola Tinubu.
