The Nigeria Internet Group hosts its first in a Monthly Covid Series Titled Tools For Operating a Successful E-Business In The face Of The COVID-19 Pandemic

Holding on Wednesday 26th of August on ZOOM from 10am to 2pm The Nigeria Internet Group (NIG), founded in 1995, is a not-for-profit,non-governmental organization, promoting the Internet in Nigeria.  To achieve its mandate, the Group engages in a number of activities which include; policy advocacy, awareness creation and education.  Awareness creation and education tasks of the Group are carried out through conferences, seminars, exhibitions, workshops and newsletter publication while policy advocacy is done by actively engaging the Government during and after policy formulation processes.  The webinar will be an interactive presentation featuring business men and women, private and public enterprise to discuss and share ideas on how much the Internet has impacted on our lives and to discuss what better ways to maximize the opportunities of the Internet for wealth creation and providing alternatives to the oil economy in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Profiles of Our Speakers Pius Okigbo Jr Mr. PIUS OKIGBO, Jnr. is the former President of the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON).     Destiny Amana : Born to Chief and Mrs. Amana in Akwa-Ibom State, Destiny is an alumnus of Kings College Lagos and Imperial College London where he graduated in Materials Science and Engineering. He went on to do a Masters in Computer Science in the University of Bath and specialized in Web Related Technologies. Destiny is the Managing Director and CEO of Icecool Contracts Limited, an Indigenous Web Design and IT Solutions Company with Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos State.  As a student in the UK, he compensated for lack of funds by following his passion for music and becoming a D.J., thus when he moved back, he also created an entertainments company that provides corporate D.J. and Event Management services called Phatvibes Entertainments Limited. Destiny was in January 2020 elected the president of the Nigeria Internet Group, an advocacy group representing Nigeria in all things related to the Internet.    Nkemdilim Uwaje Begho :Nkemdilim Uwaje Begho is a seasoned Information Technology professional with over 15 years of industry experience in Africa’s largest emerging economy with a deep purpose and focus on bridging the digital divide and transforming Africa by harnessing the benefits of digital. At home in technology from childhood, Nkemdilim is walking in her fathers’ footsteps as a second-generation Nigerian Information Technology expert. Currently CEO of Future Software Resources Ltd. A veteran IT professional with over 19 years extensive experience in network design, implementation, optimization and operations. Before joining IXPN, Rudman had worked with several organizations in technical and managerial capacity including Galaxy IT & T Limited, where he facilitated the deployment of rural telephony project (personal handy phone system), Wireless multipoint and point-to-point for broadband access, Earth Stations for Wide Area Network (WAN) using remote VSAT sites across many Nigerian states and West Africa countries.  He is an active member of several professional organizations within and outside the country, and has contributed immensely to the development of ICT sector in Nigeria. He currently serves on the Board of Nigerian Internet Registration Association (.ng  ccTLD custodians) as the Executive President.  Rudman is the Chairman of the Nigeria IPv6 Council, the Council is a chapter of the global IPv6 Forum. The Council is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of IPv6 best practices and lessons learned in Nigeria. He has severally been engaged as a member of various strategic and policy-making committees across the country. Rudman is a member of the National Broadband Council; The Council tasked with the evaluation, review and monitoring of the National Broadband Plan.  Gbenga Sesan : Gbenga Sesan is the Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative, a pan-African social enterprise working on digital inclusion and digital rights through its offices in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. He is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Digital Civil Society Lab at Stanford University. Prior to starting Paradigm Initiative, 'Gbenga led the Lagos Digital Village, a joint project of Junior Achievement of Nigeria, Microsoft and Lagos State Government. Originally trained as an Electronic & Electrical Engineer at Obafemi Awolowo University, he completed Executive Education programs at Lagos Business School, New York Group for Technology Transfer, Oxford University, Harvard University, Stanford University, Santa Clara University and University of the Pacific. 'Gbenga's consulting experience includes assignments completed for numerous institutions, including Microsoft, Harvard University and United Nations agencies, among others, in over 30 countries. A Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year and former member of the United Nations Committee of eLeaders on Youth and ICT, he is a CyberStewards Fellow, Crans Montana Forum Fellow, Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow, Ashoka Fellow, Our Common Future Fellow and Cordes Fellow. ‘Gbenga served as a member of the Presidential committees on Harmonization of Information Technology, Telecommunications and Broadcasting Sectors (2006) and Roadmap for the Achievement of Accelerated Universal Broadband Infrastructure and Services Provision (2013), and was listed by CNN as one of the Top 10 African Tech Voices on Twitter and by Ventures Africa as one of 40 African Legends Under 40.  Mrs. Nimz E. Inegbedion :Enimien “Nimz” Inegbedion is a serial entrepreneur and runs a photography business – Portraits by Nimz, a Montessori Nursery, and a blog to encourage women called Confessions of Christian Wives. She is passionate about helping female entrepreneurs discover their purpose, start up successful businesses, be free of money worries and love the life they live.  Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata : CFA is Founder Institute's Regional Director for Africa and a Co-founder at GoDo Hub.  He is also an innovation enthusiast and actively promotes the Nigerian tech ecosystem through his award-winning show Tech Trends on Channels Television as well as his weekly column in Punch newspapers.    Toba Obaniyi :Toba Obaniyi is the CEO of Whogohost Limited, one of the pioneer accredited NiRA registrars and a leading web hosting company in Nigeria. He also serves on the Executive Board of NiRA as the Vice President. Toba is a graduate of Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University,where he finished in the top 5 percentile of his class in 2008. He is a self-taught web developer, server manager and online customer service specialist.
